Prior to writing this post, we would first of all like to apologize if some of the information we provide here does not coincide with your observations. Airport staff may be able to change some of procedures even before I finish writing this post. We are not responsable for these changes. What I wanted to share is the general information that might help you guide yourself and your co-travellers through the airport of Palma de Mallorca.
Parking lot in the departures area is due charge if you exceed the time slot of 15 minutes. They only accept payments with contactless payment cards. The same situation with the parking lot in the arrivals area. For this reason, we advise parking just before the stalls as most people do (you will see them to your right) before entering to pick up your arriving guests. Due to queues before exiting, try not to be just on time with your 15-minute stay.
Parking lot to the left where you can leave your car for extended period of time may be surprisingly fool, just skip few floors, and you will find a place to park. This parking is connected with the main building on level 4 and leads you not to check in area, but to the area above check in which leads you to the security check and departure gates. To go to check in area, please take escalator or elevator one floor down. There is a nice outside smoking area to the right which is always open and not crowded, by the way.
In the airport you have to be with mask worn at all times, but in the smoking area you can take it off as it is outside of the building. So a good tip to take some rest from being with a mask worn, just go there even if you don't smoke.
Security checks in Mallorca are not serious. They may be taking liquids bigger than 100 ml, but the staff is kind so they may even be convinced that you need it with you. However, if you behave incorrectly, they may call police, and you will have a lot of explanation to do.
Duty free shop in Mallorca is a standard duty free where you find the goods you may be expecting to find. Some nice finds are next to cashier desk: small bottles, traveler beauty sets, and local delicacies. However, the prices there are usually higher than in other shops at the airport. So if you want to buy ensaimada, try to go further, you'll get same quality packs of jamon, Spanish cheese, even wine and local spirit Tunel, but for less prices. There is a toy shop and an electronics shop on the same level with duty free and a cafe. Mango shop allows trying clothes on (nice thing to do after pandemic closure of fitting rooms).
In general, the most interesting is terminal C where you can find even more nice shops like Love Mallorca, Natura, restaurants like the steak house in American style, Starbucks, and many more.
Arriving to Mallorca please beware that you will have to walk half of the airport to get out, and you will be passing by almost same shops and cafes, and restrooms. Right now on the way it is better that you prepare your QR codes and PCR tests ready, as on every step you will be asked to prepare them and show that you have them. The health check is at the end of the long way, they are quite easy with documents, they need your name, date of test taken, boarding pass, your ID, and the QR code. Once you have it, proceudre will be quicker. But mind that there are very long queues now on these checks, so try your best to be first from your plane there. Next is the luggage zone and the exit passing by two cafes on the left and right.
Check in area is also catering some cafeteria services and has a pharmacy, so if you forget your medicine, you can still buy it from there. Noone is currently checking your boarding pass and ID on the entrance to the departure zone. But this may be due change. If you're flying with Ryanair, your stalls are the far left. If it's Iberia or Vueling, it should be somewhere in the middle. Take your time, and you'll be successfully passing all controls at Palma de Mallorca Airport.
We wish you a good and safe travel!
