Probably an off-top post, but as the blog is inspired by our couple, could not resist without not mentioning it. As a couple we are together from September 2014, it has been very complicated until September 2017, then some hard years trying to learn and understand each other better, and then here we are in January 1, 2020 when Victor takes the most beautiful green diamond pear ring out of his pocket with the fireworks of New Year 2020 and proposes to me. In 2020, it was the best thing that happened to us. Then all plans were ruined as we got stuck in Mallorca from the middle of March and could not get back to Ukraine to get married.
The whole year was kind of ruined. But from the positive side, we had the quarantine time together in March, April and May which was just perfect. When other couples were about to divorce, we were planning our wedding. At this point, I think, we finally realized that we're very comfortable together and that generally we don't need people around us, we are very self-efficient couple. Coming back in November we started planning the wedding, and after long talks we decided we would not want it to happen in 2020. We made a funny date which is February12th. At first we just pointed out it is the actual start of 2021 when the Chinese New Year happens. Then we realized the date was just perfect: 12.02.2021 - just like mirror.
The day was perfect. It was -11 in Lviv, the whole city was filled with snow. And it was all white around. And sunny. We enjoyed the day as much as we could, with just family around us (also my girls came to get me ready in the morning). Here are some pictures to depict the atmosphere of that day:
Right now we are one. One unit. One social cluster. A family with single direction views. And our views on Mallorca and Amena Mar are very positive. We hope to get the project papers done soon so we can start the renovation. We will be installing elevator to make guests comfortable with their suitcases upstairs. We have planned the wheelchair access and made already a wheelchair room. Although we live here right now as we didn't look for rental this year. But that's a great way to test what we offer, isn't it?
We will update the bathrooms which really look old-fashioned right now. In this case we do understand and agree with all the guest reviews on that, but nothing we can do unless we get the authorization from the city hall for major construction work. We are planning to completely renovate them and replace the tile as the design requires and out simplicity of 'toque del mar' principle which I believe I described in one of the posts from last year.
Also the balconies require our attention. Not just the furniture which needs to be similar in all rooms and comfortable as well, but the windows, and the metal fences which are broken in many rooms. We will replace the tile floors in corridors and reception, demolish some walls to give the wheelchair access to the elevator. Finally, this summer we hope to replace the entrance door completely and already install the wheelchair lift to the left of the entrance.
After the renovation, some rooms will be equipped with fully functionable kitchens. Yes, we did listen to the voices of our clients all these years asking for a kitchen or a place to cook food for children at least. We could not do that with the current license, but we will be able to have them after the renovation finishes.
This summer Victor also will be replacing beds and mattresses, something we can do without the construction papers already. And perhaps in the end we'll deal with the tubes as the plumbing condition right now leaves much to be desired.
Some other tiny touches, and soon you'll see Amena Mar that will be different. We'll be closer to the 'Toque del mar' principles, our guests will be happier with the new rooms and interior, and we will be able to put the sign of 'Hotel and Apartments 1*' on our entrance door!:)
